Cape Town Cardiovascular Disease in Pregnancy Symposium

28 September 2016 - 29 September 2016 Cape Town, South Africa Add to calendar

The Cardiovascular Diseases in Pregnancy Symposium is a highly interactive meeting on the importance of cardiovascular pathology in maternity, a great concern in South Africa, Africa and worldwide.

It aims to provide up-to-date information on a range of topics, e.g. physiological changes in pregnancy, cardiac diseases in maternity, their pathological mechanisms, current management and diagnosis and clinical research and therapies. We aim to share research interests with a global “from-bench-to-bedside” overview, to improve knowledge and find novel research strategies to tackle the high cardiovascular maternal morbidity and mortality rate.

The keynote speakers are leaders in the field of cardiovascular diseases in pregnancy. Their work has allowed great advances in the pathophysiological understanding, diagnosis and management of women suffering from heart dysfunction during pregnancy.

An impressive line-up of cardiac and/or maternity specialists from South Africa, Germany and France will participate and it will be attended by physicians, scientists and students from all over South Africa.
