RHD Action Launch Second Round of 2019 Small Grants with Focus on Community-Primary Health Worker Training

We are very pleased to launch the second round of our Small Grants Programme for 2019 with this request for proposal. RHD Action are looking for small innovative projects with well-defined outcomes and timelines. Four awards of US$2,500 each will be made available to fund successful applications.

RHD Action Small Grant Supports Efforts for National Roll-Out of RHD Care in the Philippines

Dr Juliet J. Balderas, President of the Foundation and Dr Pacita Jay “Jing” Lopez-Ballelos, Project Director, were awarded an RHD Action Small Grant in August 2018 for their project entitled, “Creation of Standardized RHD Educational Materials to Support and Promote the National Implementation of Free Secondary Prophylaxis in the Republic of the Philippines” to support their continuing advocacy for the implementation of Outpatient Benefits Package for RHD Patients.

Team Heart use RHD Action Small Grant to promote health education for RHD patients following surgery in Rwanda

Acknowledging the Rwandan Ministry of Health (MOH) for these huge accomplishments and for sustaining their efforts toward these advancements, the Kigali-based office of Team Heart, an international NGO focused on bringing sustainable cardiac care to Rwanda, decided they could contribute by reaching out to the most vulnerable communities of people affected by rheumatic heart disease (RHD) and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
