Launch of RHD Action alongside UN General Assembly
Join the RHD Action Alliance on World Heart Day as we launch a movement to end one of the world’s most preventable killers of women and children: rheumatic heart disease (RHD). Against the backdrop of the United Nations Summit to adopt the Post-2015 development agenda, and in support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and UN Global Strategy for Women’s, Children’s and Adolescents’ health, we are excited to launch ‘RHD Action’ – the global movement to reduce the burden of rheumatic heart disease (RHD) in vulnerable populations of all ages throughout the world.
The RHD Action Alliance invites you to join us at this exciting time, when the maternal and child health, infection diseases and NCD communities come together to end one of the greatest injustices of our time. Our keynote speaker is Madame Toyin Ojora-Saraki, founder and President of the Wellbeing Foundation Africa. Speakers will also include representatives from UNICEF, Save the Children, GBD experts and people living and working with RHD from around the world. A digital ‘Save the Date’ invitation is attached, all RHD stakeholders are encouraged to attend where possible. Please direct any questions to us here.
