Sponsored by the Sudanese Children's Heart Society and Premier Company for Food Products, Sudan celebrated National RHD Awareness Day on 17 August 2015. Special radio and TV programmes were commissioned, and 2000 posters and educational pamphlets were distributed in Khartoum and other RHD target areas in Sudan: Darfur, Kordofan, White Nile and Gezira.

To celebrate National RHD Awareness Day, a school awareness campaign was run in the peripheries of Khartoum, where the incidence and prevalence of RHD is very high. The media were very receptive to this campaign, and most newspapers featured it as headline news.
