RHD Australia has developed a diagnostic tool for rheumatic fever utilising the Australia RHD guidelines. The tool included an innovative information tab/button that helps guide clinicians through the complex diagnostic pathway which ultimately minimises the chance of under diagnosis.
 
RHD Australia have proceeded through three stages of evaluation using clinicians from various tertiary, rural and remote settings. During the last phase of evaluation a group of clinicians reviewed the functionality of the diagnosis calculator against the newly recommended AHA jones criteria for high risk patients.  They found that the new AHA recommendations for high risk patients were reflective of the current Australia guidelines hence making the calculator a potential valuable and free resource for clinicians not only in Australia but for others who may utilise the AHA guidelines.
