RHD Action launches Universal Health Coverage Policy Brief at 138th Session of the WHO Executive Board
RHD Action launched its Policy Brief ‘Integration, Integration, Integration: Why Rheumatic Heart Disease Must be Incorporated into Universal Health Coverage’ to policy experts and decision-makers at the 138th Session of the World Health Organization Executive Board, held from 25-30 January in Geneva, Switzerland.
The brief contains RHD case studies, and highlights the need to integrate RHD services into national universal health coverage packages. It offers concrete actions to make this vision a reality, setting out the moral, social and economic case for action.
The brief was initially launched last year to coincide with Universal Health Coverage Day on 12th December.
This second launch formed part of a sustained advocacy push at the Executive Board meeting, where RHD Action founding member the World Heart Federation delivered two statements on rheumatic heart disease.
