Professor Bongani Mayosi

The RHD Action Alliance would like to congratulate Prof. Bongani Mayosi, who has been appointed the new Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Cape Town.
 
Prof. Mayosi, a former Chair of the Rheumatic Fever Council of the World Heart Federation, is currently Head of the Department of Medicine at the University of Cape Town, and will take up his new position on 01 September 2016.  Prof. Mayosi's research has focused on heart disease in developing countries, and he recently led the first large-scale, multinational study of rheumatic heart disease in the world.
