Launch of “Heart on Your Sleeve” Social Media Campaign
Broome based artist Edwin Mulligan supports Heart on Your Sleeve
The “Heart on Your Sleeve” (HOYS) campaign, launched this week is now underway in a flurry of activity online. The campaign was initiated and funded by community members and the Western Australia RHD Control program, based in Broome, WA helped to coordinate the campaign. The main focus of the social media campaign is to raise awareness about acute rheumatic fever (ARF) and rheumatic heart disease (RHD) within the community at a ground level. Within Australia, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are almost twenty times more likely to die of RHD. Through spreading awareness, the campaign aims to provide support to individuals and families living with RHD.
